• We need you!

The Nursing and midwifery informatics agenda in Ireland is approaching a critical time - and we need you to get involved!

  • Capturing care in eHealth

The often subtle and hidden nursing workload and care process can be difficult to code and articulate in an eHealth environment. It is therefore vital for us to focus our attention on protecting this often elusive or subtle practice, and maximise its visibility.

  • Keeping you up-to-date and in touch

We aim to provide guidance and support for education and training of nursing and midwifery informatics competencies in Ireland, plus a regularly-updated range of online and printed informatics-related resources of interest and benefit nurses and midwives.

Welcome to HISI NM

Our mission is simple: to establish a national profile for nursing and midwifery informatics in Ireland.

We welcome new members – especially those who do not consider IT experts but who want to access a network of nurses and midwives who have an interest in informatics and the use of technology in clinical practice.

HISI NM welcomes all clinically-focused practitioners, including students. Although HISI NM is nurse-led, the group is open to all clinicians.

The HISI NM community will help you learn, acquire informatics skills, and share your experiences with other nurses and midwives working in the Irish healthcare domain.

Nursing and midwifery needs to have a strong voice in how health and technology work together.

At a national level HISI NM offer its members an opportunity to shape next generation computing and ensure that national and local IT programmes are fit for purpose and maximise patient safety.

Your clinical experience and voice needs to inform this debate. Please join us »

HISI NM is affiliated with IMIA SIGNI.
